About Rachel Cooke

Born into the book world , Rachel's childhood was predominantly in Gloucestershire , from an Antiquarian book dealing family.

"I remember the smell of the books and helping my dad package up the rare books to be shipped all over the world"

Rachel attended Herefordshire College of Art and pursued her love of art and photography, meanwhile, visiting actors regularly came to the home where she was brought up.

"Frankie Howard, Sid James, Bernhard Bresslaw to name but a few, there were lots of incredibly talented and creative people always coming to buy my father's antiquarian titles, it was a right Carry On..."

Rachel met her husband Andy who happened to be a book dealer from the infamous Hay-on-Wye.

"He encouraged me to embrace the publishing world, hence Rachel Cooke Publishing was created."

Currently, Rachel also has her own book selling business based in the picturesque county of Herefordshire.

"Publishing books brings you straight into the forefront of what the author is about. I love being privileged to their passion and genius and a book is a gift that you can open again and again!"
